This morning (12/11/2023) I received two emails from a Jayleon Alderson claiming to be from Leadout Capital (Leadout capital.com)in response to an application received from me for a remote Customer Service Position for the afore mentioned company. The contents of each were slightly different (the interviewers names and means of contact and hourly wages being “offered”) and I immediately felt it was a scam. I wrote back to the individual with some questions and then went on to a bit of investigating. The company itself is “real” but, through my investigation, I found the ScamPulse.com has warned about just this scam. I notified the founder/managing partner (Ali Rosenthal), via LinkedIn, of the use of her company’s name in this spam. Now I am submitting all information to the BBB. Attached is one of the emails I received.

I was emailed by GABRIEL KABA email: [email protected] to set up an interview with the hiring manager Rebecca Borders via Signal App (? (206) 750-5864 ?). I was asked questions and at the end of the "interview" i was told Apple products were required for this position. They then told me I would be provided with a startup paycheck to purchase these materials.

"Those are the working materials you'd be needing for this position. The company will provide you with a startup paycheck for the purchase of these materials, you'd be making the purchase of all your working materials from a certified vendor we have been patronizing for years now."

I recieved an email after I applied for a job on Indeed. They asked for me to download an app called signal. After a bit of questions. I was offered the position. After thinking it was too easy, I started to investigate the number and it led me here.

Below is the initial email they sent me, I went through with the interview on signal and they said they were going to send me a check to buy the remote equipment through one of their 'approved vendors' I stopped all contact with them after reading identical reports here. The quick response and text interview were what made me suspicious, especially the very impatient attitude by the interviewer, and the job listing on indeed was taken down the same day I got this email. It seems like they spoof all the identifying information but the email format and tactics (signal interview) don't change between cases.

I applied to them on Indeed, i believe they asked me basic information questions including social security number, i cannot remember if i submitted it or not because i was applying for many jobs. This is disappointing because I assumed Indeed vetted their job offerings, and I was sent an email encouraging me to apply to this job as it fit my skill set.

Received email from a "James Doran" of "FoxDen Capital" about the remote data entry position applied to, paying $24.95/hr. And to download signal messenger and contact an assistant hiring manager, "April Weyh", for an interview. (Interview ID Number ( 512 729 3884 ) ) That was my first red flag - why do I have to make initial contact to set up the interview? The "interviewer", "April", gave the website www.foxdencapitalllc.com to look over, and told me I had only four minutes to read through it. The next red flag was the notion of them sending me money to purchase equipment and software from their vendor, after taking out my "sudden" sign-on bonus, that was never previously discussed. Third red flag was the fact that I kept asking where my local office would be located in my city. They kept saying that they are going to be setting up an office in my local area, but not telling me which exact area or location. And then I got online and see many others with the same issue. I ended communication with the con artists immediately.

I received a job offer from The Intensivist Company. They did a great job of making me believe it could be real but it just didn't feel right. They have a LinkIn and information dating back to 2012. The whole interview process was done through text and there were no errors in texting until it came time to give my more personal information. I investigated as much as I could on line and could not find anything to tell me whether this was a scam or not. Until I called the number on file and got in contact with an operator that let me know that the job offer from indeed is a scam.

Applied to a job posting on Indeed for remote data entry specialist for Voigt Capital Management LLC which is a real company in Vermont. Got an email inviting me to an e-interview using the Signal messaging app, which I vetted before downloading as well. They asked me a couple standard interview questions but never did seem to respond directly to any questions I asked. They offered me a job and said that all the paperwork would be given to me over zoom when I start my orientation. I didn’t continue talking to them because it was a giant waste of my time. I’m sure they’re phishing and trying to get peoples banking information and social security numbers.

They posted a data entry job on Indeed. I received a reply, and was immediately skeptical.

1. The email address

2. The salary was double the going rate for that position

3. I was instructed to download a secure messaging app to do my interview on.

4. No banner at the bottom of her signature with company logo.

Then it got worse from there.

The interview took place over chat.

Yet I still proceed because I really need a job, and maybe they just don't have the best employees to handle this task quite yet, and are doing what they can.

After back and forth, she wants me to download software for training purposes, software I need to pay for.

So I noped out of there and deleted that app.

I was contacted regarding a job that I applied for on Indeed, I quickly realized that it was a scam and did not go any further than the first email. They requested that I message a “James Christ” through signal messenger, which raised a red flag for me.

I received an email, which was already sketchy by the way it was drafted. That made me check the email address and the return email link wasn't what appeared to be an email address at all, but didn't want to be too skeptical and chalked it up to being part of an HR app, as it used this apps name, or at least appears to. I was instructed to download signal messenger app to schedule an interview with a Sarah Melaney. I introduced myself, and the immediate reply was: Hello, I believe you are set to commence the Job briefing and Interview session, Correct ?

That made me even more nervous because she just wanted to go right ahead and start an interview that I was not in the slightest bit prepped for. When I asked for a company website link she ghosted me. I am inclined to believe that the duration of our interactions would be via text, as no mention of a video or telephonic interview was mentioned, and I am sure, just as the OP would be receiving requests to purchase stuff for the "job".

I am applying to remote jobs through Indeed, LinkedIn and Glassdoor. (Position most likely from Glassdoor!) I applied to a company called “Integrated Computer Solutions”, and received a e-mail soon after from “Arnes Bec” at 3AM EST for an interview with “Caroline Donnell” at 9AM EST. However, the ‘interview’ was to be conducted via Signal Messenger. Please be careful. Do not give them information. No reputable company will be using an app such as that for interviews. When asking questions, they stop responding. I’ve also tried to look up the names mentioned in the email, but nothing comes up.

Funny enough, I received a text message the next day from ANOTHER scammer wanting to interview via Signal Messenger.

I received an email inviting me to a zoom interview by Erin Torino at [email protected]. Said she was the hiring manager from Pomponio Ranch in Rancho Santa Fe California. Scam artist. Don't look for jobs on Simply Hired anymore or Indeed. 90% of them are total scams at this point, esp on Simply Hired. This person went so far as to post a job ad for pomponio ranch on LinkedIn as well. They are not being shown as being directly affiliated with the company.

The scammer emailed me as if they were from Spirotherm, the company I applied to on Indeed. They said that I would need to download Signal to do the interview and communicate with the hiring manager. I did get Signal and I talked with the person but quickly I got "hired" and they asked me to send my address because they would mail me a check to pay for the materials for the job. They said they would send me documents later like W4 forms, to give my personal information. They were professional but I realized it was a scam after this because a company would not hire someone so quick and ask for this information on a messaging app.

I went on Indeed to look for a remote position and came across "Gallium Technologies" and applied for the job. Less than 24 hours later I receive 2 messages one at 1:40am and the other at 1:48am. I looked up the company and was unable to find any information. I looked up scams like this and other people mentioned that they experienced a similar scam. Attached: the emails that were sent to me, my Indeed application submission, and ZipRecruiter showing the job posting. I went to look up the job posting on Indeed and it was taken down, that is what that error message is showing.

A few things came off as being a scam:

1. The time that I received the message. No respectable company is sending these messages out at 1:40 or 1:48 in the morning

2. The email that the person was using did not look legitimate

3. The company asked me to download “Signal Messenger”

4. They wanted to have an interview NOW

5. The interview was already scheduled

6. The company has that first line which you would never see

7. The pay was already put in there, which is rare to see.

8. The grammar for the benefits area is not right, no commas and benefits never end with “etc”
