Likely a Scam

A man who claims to be 'Marcel Merriweather' goes door to door saying he's selling magazine subscriptions for a good cause. The story changes. Sometimes it's a regular subscription for the buyer, other times it is for a homeless or women's shelter. In the first case, the subscription never showed up. In the second case, there's zero way to validate this is how the money is being used. The receipts he gives out are, oddly, not very legible; as if they've been copied too many times.
