The Mitchelle and Ness hiring scam just happened to me but I caught it
The initial email, the offer and what the check looks like are in my attachments.
The initial email came from Maria Guadalupe
The scam is to make you think they've hired you and sending you cash to get equipment to set up your remote location needs and the ask you to send $500 to their "vendor" who can get the laptop to you faster. That's when the final red flag (yes, I missed earlier ones) hit and ai shut it all down. They were good - the interview they did was on point as was their a fake offer letter and check. The Zelle this person some money was a BIG NOPE.
Their hope is by the time I'd have figured out the check was fake they would have had my money instead. They did not get my money. My hope is this helps some other mark reading this not get as far along this scam as I did. Live and Learn.
