I saw this legitimate looking advertisement on Facebook of some books that help with kids learning to write and the ink with the included pen vanishes after a certain amount of time. There was a “limited time offer deal” of 50% off or something like that. So I ordered 4 books for $35 on October 15th. I got my tracking number for my package pretty quickly and it is through the China Post. I thought this was odd and I wish I had known before hand because of the shipping issues going on from Asia. I waited for the tracking number to update location but it never did. It kept saying it wasn’t in the system. So I contacted the company through their website. I waited a few days and no answer. So I message them on Facebook. No answer. I email them again on October 28 telling them I have been trying to contact them a lot with no answer and want to know where my package is. They responded the same day:

“Thank you for reaching out to us at the Learning Crab! We sincerely apologize for any delay you've experienced, and we appreciate the patience you've afforded us. I am happy to let you know that your purchase has been shipped and is currently en route. We kindly remind you that it takes between 1-5 business days for your order to be processed, packed, stamped, and delivered to the shipping company. This depends on the number of orders placed on the same day as yours. Nevertheless, a tracking number has been generated and you should have received a separate email with this information. For your further reference, you can use the following shipping details:

Sometimes, the courier may not update the tracking information until after a couple of days so if you see no recent movement, please do not worry. Just check back in a few days for updates. Please be rest assured it will be arriving to you soon.

This was frustrating to me because I had already waited several business days. So I emailed them again on Nov 13 saying that I feel I have given the tracking number plenty of time to update but it hasn’t. Their response on Nov 15:

“ This is your support team at Learning Crab, we hope today has been beautiful for you! I am sorry to hear you have yet to receive this order. I apologize for the delay and frustration this experience has caused you. We have recently learned that our tracking numbers are not being updated accurately and only show the tracking information once the order has been marked as delivered and we are making the necessary changes to resolve this issue. And yes your order may have been handled from an offshore fulfillment center and en rout from china. Please rest assured your order is well on its way despite the lack of updates on the tracking number. Don't hesitate to reach out with any additional concerns and questions as I am always here to assist you. Thank you for your unending patience regarding this delivery. Have a wonderful rest of your day!”

On the same day I email them back saying I want a refund. They respond on Nov 16:

“ This is your support team at Learning Crab, we hope today has been beautiful for you! I am sorry to hear you have yet to receive this and for the negative experience, this experience has caused you. We sincerely hope you can understand and afford us a bit more of your patience through this delivery as our system limits us from processing cancellation/refunds for parcels that are still in transit. We will be happy to process this for you upon the parcel's delivery and return. Thank you so much for understanding. Don't hesitate to reach out with any additional concerns and questions as I am always here to assist you. Thank you for your unending patience regarding this delivery. Have a wonderful rest of your day!”

So I have to receive this product that I don’t even think is going to arrive to get a refund. After waiting over a month with a bogus tracking. I haven’t even brought up the customer photos on their Facebook page of all the misspellings in their books. I did email them back the same day and have not received an answer. It’s now November 23 and I still don’t have my books.

Oh and that big sale that they said was only going to last a few hours? That’s bogus too. Because I checked on random days and they have the same sale, same sale timer on the website page counting down to the “end of the deal.”

I saw their advertisement on Facebook for reusable writing booklets to assist young children with their writing of the alphabet, numbers, and simple designs. The advertisement shows grooves that aid and guide the individual in tracing the numbers and letters. In addition, a special pen is shown that has ink that fades after a specified time and can be used again and again on the pages of the books. I went on their website and placed an order to be sent to my daughter. My credit card was charged $45.97 for the four booklets & pen and an additional pen. The products were never shipped or received. The "tracking number" (9200190281670518543164) that they said was issued for the package appears to be bogus. When I enter the tracking number into the USPS it says that a tracking # was created on October 21st in Jamaica, NY. There is no further indication of any movement of a package. I emailed them at [email protected] about my grievance and requested a reimbursement back to my credit card for the full amount that was charged since the merchandise and service were never received. Their response:

"Thank you for reaching out to us at the Learning Crab! I understand you'd like to cancel your order and be refunded. I would gladly assist you on this, although, upon checking, it seems that it has already been fulfilled and is currently in transit to you. Because of this, we are unable to cancel your purchase anymore.

If, in any case, you decide to pursue your request, we kindly encourage you to wait for the shipment to arrive and contact us back for the complete return instructions. Once the return has been confirmed, we will be sure to initiate your refund request back to your original payment method.

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or concerns. I'll be more than happy to assist. Thank you very much for your understanding, and I wish you a great day ahead!"

It appears that a customer can be forever waiting for a shipment that will never arrive. I don't see a phone number listed on their website.

I can't believe I have been scammed. From now on I will only be ordering from large, well-known companies. This type of scamming hurts both the individual customer by putting their personal information at risk and loss of funds, as well as hurting small businesses as the public has to be more selective and safe purchasing from bigger trusted companies.

I hope this company can be stopped and Facebook will only advertise legitimate and honest businesses.

I saw an ad for a learning tool for preschoolers. It is books to help children learn to write. I followed the add to what appeared to be a reputable website and browsed the website to see if it was legitimate. For the most part it seemed professional and like a good product. I proceeded to purchase the product. After not receiving the product for 6 weeks and with attempts to track the shipping failing I requested a refund. I have received suspicious responses to my requests for a refund and have been repeatedly told that I have to return the product to get my refund. I can't return a product I haven't received. There is no actual mailing address on the site and I believe it is a fraud. Parents beware! Do not purchase this product.
