Rafael Aaron Segovia is/was the owner of .. California iron designs, iron works plus/ l&R Iron Designs, All American custom Iron, Liberty gates, American custom Iron and California iron design works. He’s a con man who took $2500.00 from us. He came to my home to give an estimate and literally portrayed himself as a gate designer. He showed us a photo of his work and said I can design this for you identical to this photo. We fell in love with photo of his wood gate he made us believe was his work. Only later to find out it was from Pinterest. He assured us we would get that exact gate. Weeks went by no update .. my husband called him on a Sunday and asked for status he hung up on my husband and said don’t call me on a Sunday and stop asking me questions. He was strange. He was no longer the same man we first met. My husband kept calling him and asking him for status he kept stringing my husband along. Then one day he calls and says I have your gate but refused to show a photo. He said I need more money to pay my men. My husband told him he would absolutely not give him more money. Weeks went by and he told us he would drop the gate off but he would not drop it off the truck until we paid another $2500.00. We asked him for a photo and he sent pieces of wood drying on a metal shelf of some sort. A few days later he shows a photo of a cheap looking gate and said I have your gate. Our jaws dropped in disbelief. My husband told him we didn’t order the gate he was showing us and that we need our money back because he didn’t make our specific gate. He first said he would give all our money back than later said he would keep 1500.00. He told me that he had been in trouble before and that he would make sure I got back $2500.00. He also admitted it was his fault but to give him a few weeks to give back the money. I waited and waited and gave him to January 10th, then January 15th, he kept lying and lying .. then said he didn’t care if we took him to court because he would tell a judge if he could
Make a 100.00 payment a month and that judge would allow that. I told him I read all the reviews on him on yelp and I also reached out to other victims he did this too and he said he didn’t care. He said he’s been doing this business for years and so what if he changes company names or if he had bad reviews. This man is a dirtbag. I was able to make a police report and hopefully an investigation one day. This dirtbag who calls himself a designer is thief and terrible businessman. He takes your deposit and never returns it and runs. Last week his message on his phone said California iron design works today it says L&R iron designs. He’s been on peoples court.. he has a history and he prays on victims vulnerability. I wish we would have researched who this man was before we hired him. Rafaels Segovia’s phone number is 909/493-9499. This man should not be in business and I hope law enforcement is able to investigate this dirtbag. I’m so upset we had to experience this loss. Beware! He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing and is a compulsive liar who main goal is to take your money.

I am one of the victim too of Aaron Segovia of Iron works Plus, LLC. After giving him over $2400 deposit for the gate, door and stairs that I ordered he never came back and he stopped responding to my calls or text and it's been 6 months now since I paid him. I am in the process of filing small claim court for this scammer.

The owner of Iron Works Plus, LLC, described by many victims on Yelp and Google as a scam artist, goes by Rafael Aaron Segovia. We took a picture of his driver's license on the day we gave him a $1350 deposit check for a gate we wanted to put in to prevent our 3 year old from running into the street. That was 6 months ago after he solicited his services via Facebook, and we haven't been able to reach him since. We spoke to his "part-time" secretary Rose who claims they mailed a refund, but it's been 3 weeks and we haven't received anything. A reminder to all of the victims here - CA state Small Claims Court allows you to sue for up to $10,000, if you are an individual or a sole proprietor. That should take care of any money you paid, plus expenses incurred while trying to recover your $$, according to our attorney. And let me tell you that it has been a long and expensive journey so far. It would've been much less expensive for Iron Works Plus and the owner Rafael Aaron to just refund our original $1350.
