I was in the market for health insurance on Jan 16. I thought I was talking with a reputable insurance broker. I was told that I was being signed up for United Healthcare PPO and I was given a temporary ID. I was told that I would have coverage for all doctor's visits, all prescriptions, all surgical. My deductible would be $0. My co-pay $25 for doctor's visits and $50 for specialists and Urgent Care. The cost would be $588/mth. The rep was supposedly Jimmy and his contact number was 561-768-3970 and he would be available Mon - Fri from 10a to 7p for questions. I got a series of emails saying that I was signed up. When I finally got information to log in to their portal and I did. I saw nothing about United Healthcare. Instead I saw something called MultiPlan. When I called their customer service I was told that the rep could not get me in the United Healthcare Plan and that MultiPlan was way better anyway and would give me access to way more doctors and services. I fell for it. I asked them to sign me up for Dental, they told me they could offer dental through Aetna. I knew Aetna since it was one of the companies my dentist recommended. I told them to sign me up. Now it's a little over 2 months later and nothing is working. I have now come to realize that the whole thing is a scam. There is no prescription coverage. There is little medical coverage. The doctor's systems are not recognizing my member card. My dentist was the first one to alert me to the fact that it might be a scam. The dental plan is supposed to be Aetna, but it is actually Aetna Dental Administrators. No affiliation with the Aetna Insurance company, which was their pretense.
