A man with a middle-eastern accent called my business's phone claiming to be Idaho Power. The phone number he was calling from was "unknown" and had No Caller ID. He said there was going to be a disconnection in the next 30-45 minutes.

He asked if I knew this would happen. I said no.

He said "You did not receive an email about this disconnection?" I checked our email and said no.

I asked him what email address he has on file for us. He said he didn't know, he's just the person who does courtesy calls to inform people of upcoming disconnections

I said "I'm not the one who takes care of bills here, so I'm confused about what's happening. Have we not paid our Idaho Power bill this month?" He said he doesn't know.

He asked if I would like to call customer service to speak to someone who had more information. I said yes.

He gave me the number 1-844-622-0691, and said to be sure to call in the next 30-45 minutes. I did not call the number. I went to Idaho Power's website and checked their scam alert page. Their customer service number did not match the one given to me by the man on the phone.

My employer returned, and I asked her if she knew anything about the situation. She said that power is the landlord's responsibility. Our business doesn't even have an account with Idaho Power.

We received a phone call from "Idaho Power" stating that there is an open work order #W0404589-21 stating that we were behind on our account and power would be shut off at 2pm today 2-16-24. The associate taking the information stated that the caller did not state an amount that was due only that if not brought current our service would be discontinued. The phone number the scammer provided was 855-210-1020.

Said our power was to be disconnected today but I said my statement showed a balance of zero - I asked them to give me my account number but they couldn’t and hung up

A lady called saying she's from Idaho Power. Never said her name. Said the address to the location was on the list of disconnection. She asked if we received the notice. I said no and I told her that the owner wasn't here. I asked for a call back number and an extension, and she only gave me a phone number.

I checked with the owner about this account payment. She's caught up, no notices had been received.

I called the scam number back pretending I was the owner. Told them a fake name and the address. Was told to make the payment right away of $1998.32. that I was going to get disconnected. I told them I was going to go in person to make the payment. The man I spoke to insisted that I make the payment right away because we were scheduled for disconnect at 11:45. Again he didn't give me a name. He said he could transfer me to speak to someone make the payment by phone. I insisted that I could go in person because I was already going out to do that. He insisted they the payment needed to be a in corporate office building and not the standard Idaho Power company. Because they wouldn't know about the disconnection order. I asked why and he just repeated the same thing that the payment neededs to be I made right away and that it needs to be a corporate office.

I have received easily over 100 calls from this scam organization. When I answer, the call begins with a female robot voice saying that it is Idaho power calling and that my power service is going to be interrupted because I haven't paid a bill. And then continues, "If you find this to be an error or would like to stop the interuption please press 1 to speak with the billing department; otherwise, please press 2 to speak with the disconnections department. Thank you for choosing our services." I do not have, and never have had, an account with Idaho Power. It is very obviously a scam, but the sheer number of calls in a week or even a day from these people is harassment.
I have pressed 1 to speak to their representatives multiple times, since, usually, once I state that my number is on the national do-not-call registry and that I will report them if I receive any more calls, other scam callers will stop contacting me; these sorts of requests have been completely ignored by this scam organization. As soon as I say anything that even remotely indicates that I know it's a scam, the representatives, who are often the same people under various fake first names [no last names, even upon request], hang up. Besides ignoring my requests, my last conversation was actually verbally abusive: I asked the representative "Rachel" [who introduced herself as an Idaho Power employee] what her last name was, if she knew what the do not call registry was, and that this number was listed on it in a respectful and polite manner, even though I was quite annoyed since this was the 3rd call I had received from them that morning, and, without even acknowledging my questions, She screams through the phone, "what the F[CENSORED]!" I ask why she is swearing at me, and, again she ignores my question and continues to yell through the phone, "F[CENSORED] you! Get a [censored]ing job you f[CENSORED]!" [pretty rich coming from a scam caller in my opinion] and hangs up before I can even get another word in.
There is no way to block or report their phone number either since they have never once called from the same number even if they call me again within 5 minutes. The numbers they do use are predominantly area code 208 numbers. All of the phone numbers they use are ones that have been stolen from average residents; I have, multiple times, called back the phone numbers directly after receiving the scam call and I either get a normal voice mail, a voice mail explaining the number was stolen, and they are not responsible for the call [this was the case with the phone number I provided above], or a normal person answers, and they are either confused by the situation or they already know that their phone number was stolen.
A few of the many numbers that these scammers have attempted to contact me through include:
(801) 391-9995 [call back voice mail had no information]
(208) 794-5296 [call back voice mail had no information]
(208) 409-5493 [when I called back, it was a lady's voice mail stating that her number had been stolen by the scammers and to leave a message if you were actually trying to contact her.]
(208) 438-5320 [when I called back, an elderly lady answered and explained that her number had been stolen]
(208) 521-3635 [an adult man answered and was genuinely confused by the situation. He just stated that it must've been someone else who called.]

Robo call saying I'm behind on power payment and service will be shut off in thirty to forty-five minutes if not paid immediately.

Receive call at 9:00pm saying that it was Idaho Power Company and my power was going to be shut off in the next 30 to 45 minutes. When transferred to a person I could not hear them so I hung up and assumed this was a scam so I called the number back and it went to someone's personal voicemail.

Phone call claiming they are Idaho Power and that they will disconnect my power in 35-45 mins unless I press number 1 and talk to a customer care specialist. I didn’t press number one because I knew that it was a scam.

Calling about elecrical service disconnect.

Someone called my wife and told her that our power bill was overdue and that the power would be cut off in the next 25 to 45 minutes if we did not pay.

They left a voicemail saying Idaho Power would be shutting off my power within 45 minutes. This is the 2nd call (2/21 @ 2:55pm). The first was on Christmas Eve.

Recording claiming to be Idaho power Threatened to disconnect power within 45 off call if I didn’t call the number given and Pay the balance.

Recording that Threatened to disconnect power within 45 off call if I didn’t call the number given and Pay the balance. Our balance is current.

Left a pre-recorded message from Idaho Power number to avoid Idaho Power / imposter  to press 1. I don't answer numbers not in my phone book, so I immediately googled the number and it came up as Idaho power. Their number is being spoofed. Just wanted people to know what was happening.

Automated female voice said my account was overdue and would be disconnected in the next 30 to 40 minutes unless I hit number 9 to speak with a representative.

I answered the phone to a message claiming that it was Idaho Power and they were threatening to shut off my power. They told me to press 1 and I did. Somebody answered “Idaho Power.” I just said, “this is Idaho Power?” They didn’t say anything back and just hung up. I don’t know what information that gave them but I sure don’t think it was Idaho Power

Had a guy call and say he was with Idaho power and they were sending someone over in the next hour to shut off the power if they did not receive payment immediately. He asked me to use zelle thru my bank to send him the money or to use a debit or cash payment at Walgreens or Family Dollar to make the payment to "the business department"

Robo voice stated overdue payment will cause a disruption in service in 30-45 minutes. I chose to speak with a representative to state this was in error. I gave the address for the house the power was going to be disrupted and gave my name. But then the guy on the other end stated I needed to download an app called Zelle to transfer money to them in the next 30-45 minutes or my power would be disruptive. After I asked him for a call back number he hung up on me.

Man said he was disconnecting our power service for nonpayment. (he was difficult to understand)

I knew I had paid our power bills online and while he was talking I looked up our accounts and they were current. He demanded a Zelle check from our bank account for $798.36 or he was having his technician shut our power off and then pay a $1000 deposit to have it turned back on. I finally called him on his bluff and he hung up immediately. The phone number he called from will not even ring through.
