person presented a contract, rushed us to give deposit, sent invoice and after that never showed up.

- Los Angeles, CA, USA

I hired a general contractor to do $56k and signed his estimate. I gave him $24k for a down deposit and he only did 5% of the work he promised. I asked for a refund and he hasn’t provided it to me. He scammed me of my money.

He scammed me and my family. I have his recent contact info. Please reach out to me.

I have his recent contact info. if you'd be interested in knowing his information. He scammed me and my family, as well.

- Tampa, FL, USA

Hector came promptly to my house and gave me verbal quote. Needed money to place order for fence materials at Home Depot. Gave him check which he cashed immediately. Order delayed, when went to get order he said it was wrong. Checked other companies for pricing. Pricing and product not agreed upon. Finally I said to just give my money back. He kept communicating by phone, texts and through NextDoor messaging. with promises and no-shows for 2 months. I kept after him. Mailed him Demand Letter and no response. Several others on NextDoor said they have also been scammed by this man. His real name is Hector Samuel Diaz Zavala. Phone number not listed under his name. Email I found for him is disconnected.

First time I met this guy was when he came to fix a heater for my downstairs' neighbor, so then he was very nice and polite and gave me his number stating that if I'll need AC or heater to be fixed to give him a call. So after few months passed, and I called him. (09/01/22), he came the same day and informed me that I will need to pay him $150 because he needs to buy "chemicals" as he called it, as well as filter and grill. Also that he's providing me a discount, so basically he was charging only $90 for service. (09/02/22) Next day, he brought (2) filters (I checked the price online cost only $6, and (1) spray which is also $6. Then he said he has to order a grille and booster, and requested additional $150. Please note that he refused for me to Venmo him, because then he may need to pay taxes, so he asked for cash. Basically told me that he'll return tomorrow (09/03/22), but then he called and said that he's at the supply store and he "never asked a money for grille" so he wanted me to Venmo him $62 so he can purchase it at the moment. Long story short, he started ghosting me after that. Then at some point he called me back saying he has COVID and very sick, and to give him a week to recover. After a week when I called to check in, he said that his "foot is swollen' and he can't walk, that he has to see a doctor, so said let's check later. After a week, I got in touch again, then he said he'll come, but the same day when I would call to find out the "ETA", he would come up with excuses saying that he has to go to a supply store to purchase the supplies. When I inquired how come he still didn't purchase supplies if I paid him weeks ago, he laughed and stated "why would I?!" I told him that he's been wasting my time, because I had to take off from work few times because of him, but he never showed up, coming up with new excuses every time. At some point, my husband got in touch with him and he agreed to come between 3-5pm, so my husband waited, but he didn't show up. So then my husband had to leave the house. Around 6pm, this guy showed up, he left a grille ($50) by the door and left. I got home at 7pm and he was not there anymore. Then I got in touch with him to ask why didn't he wait bit longer, he stated that his "mother was waiting in the car" so he had to leave after waiting for 45 mins. However he promised to return to finish the job. The day when he was supposed to come, he never showed up. Then I got in touch with him to inquire where was he, and he stated that he's at the hospital with his mother. So then he promised to come a different day. That day came, and he AGAIN came up with an excuse that it's raining outside let's move it to a different day. Then again, the day came, and his new excuse was he forgot a booster that he bought me at his job site so he would return to get it but it closes at 4pm. Then we agreed to a different day again, then again he said that the booster is gone at the job site and that possibly someone took it, so he went to a "supply store" but they don't have it, however they can order it for him and it will come "tomorrow by 11am", so then we agreed that he'll come tomorrow around 4-5pm. The day came, he no longer responded to my calls. Basically, I calculated every item he bought to my house, and all cost only $62, meanwhile he charged me total of $362, -$90 for the service as he stated. So in total, I lost $210 to a scammer.
