I received a secure letter in the mail with perforated edges claiming to be my lender for a recent Mortgage. It listed the correct county, closing date, loan amount, and lender name along with a Mortgage ID.

The first sign it was a scam was that it used a middle name instead of first name addressing me. It read:

We have been trying to reach you regarding a matter of importance as it relates to your mortgage. Please call 1-833-408-1597.

I called my lender directly and they confirmed it was a scam, so I did not interact further.
