I was ordering a table and looking for the cheapest price. This website offered the lowest price. It looked just like Overstock.com. I thought they were affiliated. The charge went through. I received a confirmation email even tracking info. But I called the number on the website when the tracking said my table was delivered. The website has Overstock.com’s number. They didn’t know what I was talking about. They alerted me to the scam.

I am moving to a smaller house and need a smaller sleigh bed to match my existing bedroom set, originally purchased at Art Van. I checked with *** *** and learned that the bed/line had been discontinued. I googled it to see if there was anywhere else I could purchase and the item was readily located at High Stock Store for a very reasonable/discounted price. Having recently been at Art Van, I learned I had originally paid for the bed platform, headboard, and footboard. The picture on High Stock Store showed only the headboard (no footboard, which was even more perfect for moving into a smaller space) and I attempted to call to confirm that the price included the platform and the headboard. I tried every extension and received the same strange message for each person I tried to reach. I then emailed customer service to ask about pricing, and to inquire about purchasing now and having delivered in about 4 weeks. I received a response stating that I could just indicate that when I purchased it. Today I went to purchase it and received a message that they were temporarily unable to accept credit cards. I then received this email:

Recently you've created order #68881 on our store.

Unfortunately, PayPal and credit cards payments are temporary unavailable.

We kindly ask you to complete your order using a gift card:

If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this email keeping the code of your inquiry in the subject line. Shipping and payment related questions which were received over the website or phone can't be processed promptly.

The grammar errors ('credit cards payments are temporary unavailable') didn't set right with me, nor did the suggestion of paying with a gift card from another retailer! I then looked at the BBB site and see that someone else was scammed from them recently. I am sorry for that person's loss, and grateful I stopped short of actually paying that way! Because I've entered information for two different credit cards, I will be watching those accounts very closely to ensure that they haven't breached me in that way. Steer clear of High Stock Store/highstockstore.com!

When placing an order, they say your credit card has been declined and e-mail to you that you can not pay via credit card or paypal temporarily, so that amazon or walmart etc. gift card may be acceptable. If you share your gift card number they redeem it immediately to their account. Amazon says nothing to do for this issue. And goes on.

They also have a website (http://usncarrier.com) that your order seems to be shipped.
