Through Home Advisor, we hired Damien Gunn to refinish existing flooring and to put new flooring, and to redo our staircase. He took money up front for the materials. He showed up to move our furniture to our garage, but then never came back to do the work. Damien had us select our materials (balusters, railings, and newels) for the staircase off the L. J. Smith web site and then a week or so later told us the materials had arrived at his warehouse. Later when we began to suspect Damien was dishonest, we called L. J. Smith who gave us the names of the 4 distributors in the Denver area that they work with. We called each of them but none of them had ever heard of Damien Gunn or Gunn Hardwoods. Damien never gave us any proof that he ever received our materials. We asked for a refund and he said, "I'll have to check with my distributor who will probably charge me a restocking fee," but 3 weeks have passed and we still don't have a refund. We called the Tom Martino radio program and they have received other complaints about Damien. Based upon our phone call to the show, Tom Martino added Damien to his "Sleaze Brigade". Also, the Tonae Quillen who posted a favorable review on Google Reviews, is supposedly THE OWNER of Gunn Hardwoods, per Home Advisor, so one of the only favorable review for him on Google Reviews is a deceptive one.
