Recently filed for a Service Mark in Ohio. Received a letter that indicates we are to order our Certificate of Good Standing for the sum of $67.50 (the State of Ohio only charges $5). Very misleading letter leading us to believe we had to do this. Only ONE word in the whole "invoice" says optional in very small print! We truly believed we had to do this to complete the Service Mark process as it included a filing copy of part of the certificate with our lawyer's name on it. Thankfully, we checked with the State and did not fall for this!

I have received calls from a 770-418-4584 number who doesn't answer on the line, however minutes after I receive the weird call, a employer of mine (G***** Automotive) and family (Jason [censored], Stacey C*******) were contacted by this "Office of Capitol County Courts" and stated that I would need to call them because they have legal paperwork that needs to be delievred or they will find me by going the places they have contacted (family, friends). When I first heard about this message from my employer, I called the number with the refernce number they left to call back. I spoke with someone who would not tell me her name, but told me my birthday and then asked me for my social security number before she could tell me what this was about. I declined providing my social security number and the woman placed me on hold, came back a minute later and told me my name, birthday and last 4 of my social as well as a previous loan I took out years ago that apparently was not paid. I asked for proof of documentation sent to me, but she stated this could be handled by a payment in office. I then asked for an address because I was not feeling safe, and she told me she could only take Mastercard or Visa for 2 transactions ($1600 and $400) to close everything out. I asked again for an address and insisted I would like to come in and speak with someone then pay if this was the case. She got very rude and said "Ma'am, you will not! You will not come here." and continued to ask for my payment via phone. Today is the second day I have heard from this number, with the same threat. They obviously have my personal information as well since I did not tell her anything and she was providing the information to me looking for me to confirm.

I filled out all the info including ss#address, phone#,name, and creditcard#. I thought I was on a legit gov web site applying for 1st time passport only to discover it wasn't. Also gave my email to have the info emailed to me which didn't happen Red flag find out the forms are free on the real site. Paid additional fee if passport is lost or stolen replace for free another red flag. Ist time passport applicant. Boy was I stupid I have heard so many stories about the time it is taking I thought this would be a better way. Should have known this when it didn't ask for my photo to be uploaded to app. Thought I would take it to the post office with photo and it would be processed there when I received it. Again I stupidly paid money and gave out personal info.

Website was posing as address change website. Disguised as official website for an address change. No dollar amount was listed. No way to contact business to obtain refund. Filed claim with my bank. Hopefully I will be able to get that money back.

Soon after filing a new LLC in the state of Idaho I received the attached document in the mail claiming it provided a "Certificate of Existence" in the state of Idaho for a specific fee I needed to send to the address via check or money order. The address goes to a rented mail box at a local Postal Annex and in fine print on the document is states this certificate is optional but it is quite misleading. The Idaho Secretary of State filing for "ID Certificate Service" appears to no longer be active and that is where I received the Florida address they filed under.

I volunteer for a small non-profit that is government funded. Every year, we have to renew our standing with the government (System of Awards Management of SAM) in order to be grant-fund eligible. The reason I am alerting rather than suing is that I am sure in my hurry to comply in the wee hours of the morning, there was something I signed that absolved this agency of any wrong doing, but the Director of the program forwarded me an email, and it looked official and stated that there were new policies in place (which there WERE the year before) and so I used that website and followed all of the procedures (scanned my passport, paid the new fees, etc.) until I got into the ACTUAL SAM website where they alerted users that the renewal had NO FEES and not to be pulled into paying by some outside agency. The website I thought I was supposed to be in would NOT let me proceed with renewal without paying. They also were calling my renewal late when my records said I had another 20 days. They claimed new procedures could make renewals delay up to 60 days and said no govt. contracts would be rewarded until the renewal went through--a threat. (It actually was processed in less than 24 hours, just like normal). It was 3 a.m., and I have a job I had to get to at 7 so I called the director for the non-profit and told him to call the business credit card company to cancel payment. I in no way am excusing my negligence, but the email sounds legit, like it IS the government, and I did not want someone else falling for it like I did. SAM agency says that renewals are ALWAYS free of charge. Please put that information out however you can.

Glad I googled this email first before I did any thing!

ScamPulse.com popped up right away.

Thank you!

Received a call from "Unavailable" which I answered as I had just scheduled a vaccination and not sure if call related to that. Someone that sounded more like a woman vs. a man with a foreign accent (possibly Caribbean island?) identified themself as "Justin Long" from the Washington DC office. When asked they provided phone call back of 202-341-3856, and a badge ID JP41713. They said a package was intercepted containing illegal / contraband items addressed to my home (they provided correct address, but I was not confirming any info). I told them if they sent an agent along with a representative from our local law enforcement the matter could be discussed but I was not aware of anything illegal going on. Hung up on them before the conversation went further.

They left a few voicemail this is one of them. I received an automated call this morning at 8:59AM (CST) that said that my social security number was used on the Texas-Mexican border. The Recording also said if I wanted to talk to the agent to press one. I hung up and called the police.
