I applied for Global Entry on a fake website and submitted passport, drivers license and contact information on. I am now receiving texts and emails. Is my info compromised?

When searching to global entry application for the US Customs and Border Protection Agency there is a sponsored site on google that appears as the official application page. The site then collects name, current and past residential addresses, passport number and related details, and driver license number and related information, work addresses and contact details, countries of travel, etc. There is not identifiable information to make it clear that this is not the government site and has no affiliation to the government page. It charges 250$ by credit card for the Global Entry application. Then emails you a pdf with instruction to apply for global entry with its passid. The true cost of this application is only 100$. I believe my information will be sold and/or utilized for illegal activities including identity theft and was scammed out of money for a fraudulent service.

The website tries to act like the Global Entry application page asking personal information such as passport number, USCIS / Green Card number, Address history, employment history, credit card number, etc.

It happened exactly like your article on Global Entry scams. I googled global entry and the first few links were initially to this website Global Traveler Application. It ask the same questions as the official TTP global entry application. They ask about your DOB, passport number, license number, employment history, email address and mailing address. They charge a $149.00 service fee and $100 non refundable fee for the global entry application. I didn’t realize it was a scam until after I submitted my payment and mentioned the price to my family. They informed me the official website I had to create a government login and the application was only $100. I immediately emailed back requesting to cancel and a refund. Then the fraud department of my bank called me the next day, I had them block my card but the $100 had already been through with the $149 pending. I called the number listed after submitting your payment and emailed them I wanted a refund. At first they only tried to refund $50 of the service fee and said the $100 is non refundable. Then they called and I told them I wanted to cancel and they “refunded” me the $149 service fee. I’m not sure if they actually refunded it or it never went through in the first place because I had my bank permanently freeze my card and got a new one asap. Hi have emailed them I want my $100 service fee returned because their isn’t proof of an actual application being submitted and it’d be false. The website is a scam. I am currently waiting for a response as this just happened 02/25 and it’s currently 03/2. I’m hoping they refund me my $100 but if not I will be contacting the Trusted travelers program on how to procedure further.

I provided them with personal information being misled that this a government website.

When I googled global entry to renew my application, this was the first website that popped up. I proceeded to enter my personal information including License #, Passport # and various addresses and jobs I have worked at previously. Luckily when I went to pay I realized it was a scam, but they have all of my personal information now.

The posted everything authentic as a Global Entry website with exact same form to fill.

I had issues may be because i filled on their mobile app which is more deceptively similar.

The have my Passport Number, DL number and Alien Number

Went to sign up for Global Entry and clicked on the website I thought was the government’s and it wasn’t. Ended up being charged $268 instead of $100 and then a $8 transaction fee which then made me question it and sure enough it was an email from Brazil I received.

Fake website for renewing global entry

Included sensitive information in the application as I thought it was a legit government website. I realized when I was about to pay that they were charging more for services than I originally thought. I didn’t submit payment but now I’m worried about my information been compromised.

I thought I was renewing my Global Entry card. So it mirrors the same questions that the official Global Entry site asks. I did not pay close enough attention and submitted all my info. I feel so stupid. They prompted me to submit my Passport, Birth date, Drivers License, Address, Employment and credit card for payment. It was a Brazilian scam since they charged my credit card and it was in Brazilian currency.

Please do not use this site. Trying to renew global entry and the site for applyforglobalentry.com came up. The only official site is cbp.gov

The other site asks for a paypal fee in addition to payment. Do not use this site as they will scam you out of your money. The site needs to be closed down immediately.

By mistake I entered personal and credit card information thinking it was the real Global Entry page.

Tried to apply for Global Entry. I did not pay attention and got on this site. It took my information - far too much. Drivers license, known traveler number, passport number. I feel sick.

- Chicago, IL, USA

Global Entry is a scam and they put their address above the .gov so they can charge an extra $89.00 for a TSA that only cost $100.00 from the government site! Beware that they will rip you off and only go to the government site. This needs to be stopped and the government needs to put a stop to this! My question is why is this allowed to happen?????
