Type of a scam Retail Business

Received email, looking like AAA autoclub. We are members and policy `due. Email included offer for a free auto emergency kit is linked survey was completed. Completed survey and a S&H cost associated with what appeared to be for mailing the emergency kit. Charge by FIRESIDE HOME ESSENTIAL identified on provided credit card on 3/25/25. An additional charge of 73.45 (paid by credit card on 3/24/25) was shown a authorized by CC on 3/25/25. Called phone number associated with the CC entry, and asked for charges back. Individual at number, stated I had not read/understood the fine print. Told them they were not AAA as advertised and that I would be talking to them re scam (AAA is aware, and stated they are doing what they can to eliminate the scammers). I also stated that they would be reported the the ScamPulse.com and the state attorney general. They offered a % of the charges back and walked back further offering all charges back, that could take up to 90 days. I asked for written confirmation of the credit back and they refused to provide it. Was not the path I preferred to follow. So this.

The initial charge has been refunded by the CC based on filed dispute. A dispute on the 2nd charge has been filed and it too will be refunded.

Since, similar emails have been received from what looks like Costco wholesale and what looks like Omaha Steaks. would not have gone down the AAA email scam if I would have looked at the sending email address.
