[email protected] Reports & Reviews (1)

- Newton, KS, USA • May 09, 2025

I received a text message supposedly from PayPal saying they were investigating a fraudulent charge to a PayPal account that I had set up in Texas to pay $367.99 for bitcoin. I knew I had not set up a second account. The woman, who sounded just like a woman from India who do represent some companies, gave me a case reference number, her employee ID number and the name of Caroline then offered to dial my bank’s fraud line to put my bank on alert for fraudulent charges. I agreed. A man answered who also had an East Indian accent. I knew then it was a scam since I bank in Hesston, Kansas. I told the man I would call my bank myself and refused to give him my banking information. I then called my bank and they told me it was a scam and told me to contact the Better Business Bureau and inform PayPal.
