I had the same experience last week. An initial phone call, followed up by a call from Savio who stressed the need for Scrum certification. His email that included the acceptable certifications listed trainingacademy.ca first, and (surprise) with the lowest cost. He mentioned Amazon on the phone a few times, though the company was not mentioned in the email.

Location - Remote (10% travel to headquarters)

Salary - $130K -$145K ( depending upon the experience) and 401k benefits included ( Bonus 22% fixed bonus)

Role Responsibilities

· Help design, implement and perform full life cycle software testing
· Perform software testing including manual, black box testing to ensure code quality
· Work closely with software engineers and architects to ensure complete and accurate software testing
· Evaluate new software testing technologies for appropriateness
· Work with TFS or GIT and other development automated build and code repository frameworks
· Work with developers to identify, track and fix bugs

Other Responsibilities:

· Work within the context of an agile scrum team to evaluate user stories and verify practicality and applicability of enhancement requests.
· Analyze user stories for test ability and scope of test effort.
· Provide an agile scrum team with the best estimate of test effort.
· Identify risks associated with testing efforts and make appropriate judgments to minimize risk while delivering on commitments.
· Define and communicate appropriate approaches to test assigned functionality, governed by complexity and scope.
· Create and execute test cases demonstrating coverage of all user story acceptance criteria.
· Report defects and errors, as well as status of testing.
· Implement and execute test automation scripts, frameworks, and tooling as directed. This includes both legacy functionality (regression) and current sprint deliverable.
· Establish and maintain appropriate test bed data with consideration of dynamic and encrypted elements.
· Implement adjustments to database schema, user interfaces, and business logic modules as necessary.
· Utilize technical and domain expertise to mentor team members, improve efficiencies, and refine processes and procedures.
· Evaluate end user documentation using end product, general knowledge, and content of user stories.
· Passionately pursue quality in one's own actions and in the context of assigned projects/tasks.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Q/A tester or similar role
· Scrum Certification is mandatory (In process is acceptable)
· Experience in project management and Q/A methodology.
· Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
· Working knowledge of test management software
· Excellent communication skills
· Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Type of a scam Employment

I got a call from a Shelly with this company telling me she had a very good paying job at Amazon. I just needed to reply to her that I was interested in the job and send her my resume. I would also need to get a certain certification that I did not currently have to get the job (she already knew I did not have certification by looking at my public data on Career Builder and/or LinkedIn). I had already received a call a week earlier following this same script (good paying job at well known company..but job is not online). I pressed her on the address of the business she worked for in Burbank, CA specifically asking for her office number and she hung up. This is another telltale sign of the scam (address never gives you specific office address, just a generic address to a building or floor to a building. Another discrepancy with all these scam staffing companies is that they indicate they are several years old. However, you can verify when their domain was first created by checking on whois.net and they all appear to be within the last couple of months. Their goal appears to be to direct you to pay for training at a particular online training site (that I presume they are associated with) in order to qualify for the fake job that you will never get.
