Type of a scam Debt Collections
Did more research on company. Googled the company found corporate status of the company. Went to confirm via Texas State Corporation look-up web-site and found nothing. Looked up the Texas Secretary of States' Office and called the Customer Service line to check out the company. Was told that they had company in their system--Opened September 4, 2019, Company number was correct and Status--Active. Told agent at Sec. of State's office what happened and agent gave us number to the Texas Attorney General's Office Consumer Affairs Division. Called them. Still waiting for call back.
Then Googled the name of the company as spelled on their corporate letterhead; nothing specifically came up. Googled the 800 number on letterhead. Found company that has name very similar name--Dow Blue Financial--an Oil & Commercial Debt Collection Company with a web-site. Then googled the local phone number on the letterhead. Found pictures of a building where the phone number goes to.
Googled where the address was in Port Arthur TX--looks like and industrial field.
Will be calling my local police department, US Post Office Police and Port Arthur police to make reports. Will also make reports to appropriate Atty. General Offices in Texas and Florida.
I just realized that this am at 11:43 I received a call form Dow Blue, LLC which they did not Identify themselves as "Dow Blue" and wanted to speak to my husband calling him by his first name in the message that they left. "Ms. Green" gave a Reference number to use upon us calling her back. Office hours: 9-5 pm. Before she hung up she closed the call by saying "Good Luck"
