I am a contractor and was contacted via text about doing work. They informed me that they were hearing impaired and could only communicate by text or email. they also wanted to know if I accepted credit cards. they wanted me to look at a house that was for sale for a painting estimate. I sent an estimate for the work to email address provided. they then wanted to use a credit card for the deposit and then about 3000.00 extra for the "commission agent". I then contacted the real estate agent listed for the property and was told they did not know the person, and was told by the agent that they have been receiving these types of scams a lot lately. I turned over my info to him and he was forwarding it to the police for further action.
