Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare

Victim is elderly and vulnerable. Received an unsolicited phone call asking about her arm. The next thing she knew there was a package left at her door days later. The box contained 2 elbow braces and and foot orthotic, and some kind of pad insert. Immediately, I knew this is a scam and because not only does she have no medical need for these braces and the forms in the box in which to send a claim for this braces to Medicare or your insurance. Because the box was not signed for it satisfies the criteria for return. Please see UPS deliver inquiry (obtained by us from UPS) for Jim Callendar of DDP Medical Supply. The odd thing is that the box and all the paper work enclosed is from another medical supply company in Florida: LTE Medical Supplies 6101 W Atlantic Blvd, Margate FL 33063. Please help shut this scam down. I strongly believe this is an elder abuse event. She could not handing this situation on her own and hopefully when the braces are returned to the shipper that will be that, but I am concerned that they will press on and send her a bill. I would be happy to help in anyway I can. Thank You

My aunt, who is developmentally delayed and has mental health and memory issues, was contacted by phone approximately a month ago to say she qualified for a free "Freestyle Libre" continuous glucose meter (she is an insulin dependent diabetic) and that it was covered by Medicare. She was not able to remember what information she gave them. On 5/11/21, a package was delivered via UPS to my home but addressed to my aunt (she does not live with me). The sender name of the company on the package was "HealthPro Medical Equipment." This was a "signature required" delivery, however, the package was delivered without receiving a signature or ID verification. I have already addressed this issue with UPS. The package contained the "Freestyle Libre" monitor and 2 adhesive test patches. On 5/12/21, I called the phone number for HealthPro (1-985-872-4020) that was on the delivery notice inside the box. I spoke with someone named Ricky. He was immediately defensive and proceeded to try and get additional information from me. He indicated that due to Covid, Medicare now covers this type of device (which I have verified is not true), and that my aunt's doctor had submitted the authorization for this order. I also know this is not accurate and have an email from the doctor stating to this fact. At that point, I ended the phone call. After doing some additional research on-line using the return address, I found that the address belongs to "DDP Medical Supply." On 5/13/21, I called DDP Medical at 1-800-437-4455 and was connected to a supervisor named Ed Everett. He verified that HealthPro was a company that contracts with them to provide medical equipment and that the company should not be making direct phone calls to individuals. He assured me he would contact HealthPro directly and would cancel all future orders and direct them to not make any additional contact. UPS picked-up the package to be returned on the evening of 5/13/21. I assumed this concluded this situation, however on 5/14/21 my aunt received a package outside her apartment door (no signature received). The company name on the package is "Choice Home Care Supply, Inc" but the address is the same as the one for DDP Medical Supply. I will be contacting the same supervisor (Ed Everett) on Monday, 5/17/21 when they are open to follow-up on this additional delivery. I will also be filing a report with Medicare regarding this situation.
