Crackle Imposter Video editor job scam

I received a text message from a man named Gary Kewell who said he was from human resources at Crackle. I received this text at 7pm which seemed odd and also that I didn't remember applying for the job. The amount they were offering was $45 per hour for a remote Video editing job, which seemed too good to be true. If it seems to good to be true, it is. Thankfully I came to my senses before I gave them any substantial information.

It started by receiving an email for a position my husband didn’t remember applying for(specifically for a position at crackle), a $45/hr for 30 hours a week position. He went through the emailing process just to see what it was about and the point of contact person was Gary Kewell. He was asked to use the Wire app as the form of communication and told he would have a phone interview with someone named Ethan Dawson, however the phone interview was with a person who had a heavy middle eastern accent and never give his name. After that he was directed to a supervisor named Mellisa Matson and given all of the rather vague information on the job description and duties. He was told he would need specifically an iPhone 13 Pro and an iPad Pro. Also that he would be set up with a Macbook, printer, headset, Sony camera, and Adobe platforms for editing. We came to the conclusion that we didn’t want to risk the possibility of a scam so he didn’t move any further ahead with the position.
