I tried to park in the Coeur Dalene city public parking building that requires users to scan a QR Code to pay the parking fee. The Parking area is managed by Diamond Parking, a nationally known parking lot management company based in Atlanta, GA. The patron MUST scan the QR Code to get linked to the website where if necessary, they will establish an account with credit or debit card, email address to then register the vehicle license plate number and set the time expected to be parked in that location. The locations are number coded, in this case it is #1605. I scanned the QR Code with my smartphone, the phone opened a link to what I thought was the page to establish the required account but I was diverted by a scam artist and duped into creating an account with a website "FRAAVY.COM". Immediately, the correct website appeared, and I had to re-accomplish the account setup, and pay to park. The next day, I noticed a BOGUS entry in my PAYPAL activities list, a $1.00 charge (pending) to a merchant listed as "UBFUN.NET" . I notified PAYPAL, closed that debit card. My Google Chrome browser had all the website history, so I could see where I was misled to the FRAAVY.COM site. More Internet research revealed this SCAM establishes a $49.99 per month "subscription" service charged to the debit or credit card, to the cardholder. A $1.00 fee might easily be overlooked and forgotten, until the $49.99 charge appears in the future. I am attempting to get FRAAVY.COM to delete my account through their website WWW.abhelpline.com. FRAAVY.COM lists 1 866 471-9677 as a customer service number.
