Told me they were from Chase Bank, that someone was trying to open an account in my name, that they were using Zelle to send money to someone named Jessica Brown, and then attempted to have me send them $3,500 USD via Zelle using a "code" that wouldn't take the money out of my account.

I received several phone calls today, March 5 2025 from someone claiming to be JP Morgan Chase. They told me it was urgent because there were 2 charges made by a woman in Flint, Michigan who attempted to open a checking account in my name and also tried to send herself two large sums of money through Zelle. The first transaction was for $2000.00 and the second was for $1500.00. They gave me a case # (clearly a phone number in NYC) and gave the name Manuel Bazo as my "case worker" through Zelle. The "JP Morgan Chase" person asked me to record the name Manuel Bazo, the case number, and 2 numbers for "cancellation codes" that I would need when he transfers me to Zelle. He then transferred me to Zelle, and the person I spoke to told me to open my zelle app, add the case # + that Manuel Bazo is who I was sending the money to. I knew it was a scam the whole time and when I asked to speak with Manuel Bazo the case manager, I was told he was upper management, and unavailable, but when I insisted, they then agreed to transfer me??? Then I told them point blank I know it's a scam and they hung up on me.
