I received a text message saying I was selected along with other people to be given $500,000 from Mr Manuel. They asked me to provide my picture along with a code that they sent me, my full name, my phone service provider, my address, age, sex, and monthly income. They did not ask for any money. There was a phone number for the agent in charge Mr Charles Thompson. When I questioned Mr Thompson he sent me the picture below as proof that it is legitimate and legal.

This person has called, and texted me many times asking me to buy a Amazon gift card for a activating fee, to send me a monetary donation from David Johnson! And he has called several times from this number
347-278-8015.also sent me a picture of a guy thanking David for helping him with money!

Received this Text Msg scam on 11/09/2021 6:00pm cst:

??There are some true things in this text msg: the man’s name used: Manuel Franco (he did win a lottery & did give money away to random people) BUT he is not in any way associated with this scam. ??

I checked online to see what this scam is all about & it does include a phone number to call to see “how to receive your free money”. Supposedly when you text that number & you”lol receive instructions on what to do next. They will then dazzle you by telling you will receive a large amount of money BUT that you need to send them a “small amount of money” ($1000-$2000 to process shipment of the funds to you). Then you send money & never hear from them again - until their next scam.

This is the entire Text Msg I received today

“ I'm Mr. Manuel Franco, the Powerball winner of $768 Million in Powerball Millions Jackpot, click here to see my winning interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTm2y1G7zC0 I'm donating to 200 random individuals. If you get this message then your number was selected after a spin ball. I have spread most of my wealth over a number of charities and organizations. I have voluntarily decided to donate the sum of $100,000 USD to you as one of the selected 200, to verify your winnings send a text to the agent in charge. Here is the number of the agent Charles Thompson in charge (6205913018) text him for confirmation and delivery of your winning.”

I hope that these criminals can one day be caught & punished for their crimes. But I mostly hope that victims can become more aware of all types of scams and are able to resist falling victim/losing money to these criminals.
