Car Part Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Sheppard Afb, TX, USA

The business, Mike Epps Mustang Restoration (https://www.instagram.com/automotive_dealers_store/), claimed to have, and advertised automotive parts on Instagram. I enquired via direct messaged (DM) and confirmed the availability of one of the advertised products, a set of four wheels for $1,600, to include shipping. We agreed to have the payments made through Zelle. Email used for payments was [email protected], name Stephen Rivera.

Two days later on 14 Feb. I received a shipping confirmation (985623147856) from Downstream Logistics (https://downstreamtransportation.com), and a request for a $799 refundable deposit. The business reached out and asked if I received the confirmation from the transportation company and the deposit was required for the product to be released. I paid the deposit reluctantly through Zelle to [email protected]; red flags started being raised.

On 16 Feb. the confirmation stated it was "out for delivery". The next day, 17 Feb. the business reached out again, saying I needed to make a $300 payment for the product to be released. At this point I strongly felt this was a scam. I challenged who ever I was in DM with and I have not heard back. I've tried contacting the transportation company by phone: (919) 900-4413 disconnected and (251) 306-2214 leaving three messages for a "Jonathan" with no call back. I also emailed them several times at [email protected] to no avail either. I will be filing another scam report on them.
