I also received a check in the mail for 1380 from a Seacost Bank from a Peter Williams. The letter with it said Whole Foods Market customer service evaluation. They wanted me to deposit the check and then go and buy $1000 worth of gift cards and scratch off the cards and send them a pic of the back and front of the card and receipt. I instantly googled and came across this site and read all of the similar complaints. I also googled the number that it said to text but no information was found

I also received one check for 3950.90 for rock star energy drink to put a logo/decal only ... They said text only & then deposit check n send pictures of deposits slips& also gave me a name and routing number I googled name & showed that the person was deceased on August 8th & thats the same day the check was dated ..

I am reaching out to report a fraudulent contact and scam. I was contacted by 'Christopher Luke', a groom with an upcoming 'wedding' and we booked my services as an officiant at the service fee of $500.00. He claimed his 'boss' was paying for the services and that he would send me a cashier's check. He texted me letting me know that the check would be arriving in the amount of $2,875.00. When I questioned this amount, he said that his boss thought photography was included in my services. The check arrived in an envelope with no return address and a check from a school in Flintridge, CA. After clarifying that my services didn't include photography, I told him I would send the check back. He said that wouldn't work and that only I could cash this check and his boss couldn't reissue a check. He wanted me to cash the check, take my $500 out and then send him the rest. I stated I was not comfortable with this arrangement and that I would send the check back. He became angry and said I was ruining his wedding. I re-stated my boundary and then he asked me to send a picture of the check with "VOID" written across it. I haven't heard from him since, but wanted to report this.

Additionally, a few days later, I received another check in the amount of $1,650.00 from Camaland Logistics LLC. I am not sure if this is connected to the initial scam, but in looking up Camaland Logistics LLC, there have been other scams reported.

Today, I received a text from "Benjamin Scott and Monica Gaal", a couple I have had no previous contact with. The text said "Is this Jessie Ballard our Officiant? We will be calling if their is another arrangement on the day. Hope our date is still intact and fix? The check that was sent will arrive at your address anytime. Benjamin Scott & Monica Gaal."

I have received a check my self for almost 4000, for Rockstar Enegery drinks to put a sign on my car. They want you to deposit these fadualnt checks so can can gain access to your checking account. Always remember if it's to good to be true it's not.

I received a request to provide wedding officiant services from a man who claimed his uncle wanted to help pay for the wedding. He told me he accidently wrote the check for me and the videographer and I need to send the videographer his fee out of the check he is sending. I was immediately suspicious.
When the check arrived priority USPS, I took it to the bank for inspection. They were also suspicious but would deposit the check anyway and see what would happen.
Needless to say, I am not officiating his wedding!

Received 2 checks over $2500 each but bank said no money in account for them.I would like my money.

A few weeks ago I received a text message/email from a number claiming that they working for Whole Foods and that I can earn money being a customer service evaluator. They sent me a website to file and later sent me a package with a letter and with a check. They told me to deposit the check on my account only and go buy $1000 worth of Nike gift cards from Whole Foods, not letting the cashiers know that I am doing the survey. They also told me the sooner I get the work done I will receive a $100 bonus.

I just got one as well and was skeptical about the whole thing.

Same thing happened to me. From Wholefoods and I was to purchase $2000.00 worth of Nike gift cards and that I was to take picture of front and back of card and send them the receipt where I purchased the cards and the time. And if I hurried I’d get a $450.00 bonus. I called the bank on the check and they verified that the account doesn’t exist. I was to contact [email protected] (646)930-7183

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME, BUT INSTEAD OF WALMART THEY SAID THEY REPRESENTED WHOLE FOODS AND WANTED ME TO PURCHASE NIKE GIFT CARDS WITH THE CHECK THEY SENT, PURCHASE $2000 IN NIKE GIFT CARDS, TAKE PICTURE OF THE CARDS FRONT AND BACK...TOTAL SCAM.

This happened to me also. I even called the bank that the check was drawn on and kept getting disconnected. I would not dare deposit the 2,500.00 into my bank account. I need to report this to the BBB.
