Active Relief Assistance Repeated Robocalls About Back Tax Balance

Caller calls several times a day. My phone sends unknown callers to vm. Vm left is usually “This is Sydney (most recent name being used) calling from (877) 712-1612. (Not the number they called from). I am following up on a notification regarding the back tax balance that has been flagged for potential reduction”. And it goes on from there. I googled it and it said it was a scam and to not even block them because it shows them the number is still active, etc. So I just let it go to vm and then delete it. It sure if that is the correct thing to do however I do know I don’t owe any tax debt that I’m aware of but it had me worried all the same. Almost called them back but decided against it. But man, they don’t let up!

Voicemail: "Hello, this is Sidney from Active Relief Assistance calling from 877-712-1612. I'm following up on a notification regarding the back tax balance that has been flagged for potential reduction. We've been seeing a lot of success lately with the new penalty abatement programs and I wanted to see if we could apply that to your situation to lower your monthly obligation. This isn't a debt collection call, it's more about exploring the settlement options the government has released this quarter. Please reach out to our main office at 877-712-1612 when you have a moment, just ask for the Resolution Department and mention my name, Sidney, so we can begin pulling up the guidelines for you and exactly where you stand. Thank you."
