Warranty mail scam demands $250 to activate coverage

I got mail about a warranty that I had, they needed more information to start the warranty. I called the number and the guy asked for a customer ID number that was on the letter. After that it was the miles on the car and the VIN. That's all the information I gave to him before he acted as if he confirmed my info and started to demand money ($250~) to activate the warranty. I was confused as nowhere in the mail did it state I needed to pay just call to confirm info. So (no joke) all I asked was if I needed to give my card number over the phone and he got pissed and stopped acting professional. I should also add that his smoke detector was going off the entire call and that made me question the legitimacy of the call from the start LMAO. (Also he know my real name which is weird because I use fake names a lot to know how or why a random number got my contact.)

Warranty activation scam call from (888) 560-2946

This is not the first time I’ve received letters from people like this. When I called this time, they have an ID number on there to use and he said I need to activate my warranty. I said my warranty is active. He said well I’ll just call the dealer and tell them to cancel your warranty because you’re refusing to activate it and of course I hung up on him. I’m just tired of receiving this garbage and they’re just trying to scam you because I have an active warranty. But I know a lot of people fall for this.
