- Knoxville, TN, USA

Upon registering my car in a new state, I received a letter claiming to be from “Motor Vehicle Services” regarding a vehicle service contract. The letter contained personal information and the make and model of my car and “Suggested Repair Facilities to Choose From.” One of the suggested repair facilities was the business I purchased the car from used. The letter advised I should call (866) 426-0075 before a “Program Term Deadline” and update the contract or else I would “be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs” following the expiration of my factory warranty. The letter indicates that the personal data and car information was retrieved from my “public record consumer auto data file.”

Sent me stuff indicating they were associated with the auto dealership, and said that my warranty would lapse if I didn’t update my information with them

- Round Rock, TX, USA

Marked "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE IS REQUIRED", and "A111.0000.78.00011A35.80884", and "...By neglecting to replace your coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs..."

Letter saying immediate response required posing as Motor Vehicle Services about my cars warranty.

- Fort Worth, TX, USA

I received multiple letters in the mail asking to call MVS. I called today, and they asked for my debit card information. They withdrew $495 from my account.

- Golden, CO, USA

The scammer included name, personal address. Scammer tried to identify as ‘Motor Vehicle Services’, so I thought this was the DMV contacting me. Scammer encouraged me to act urgently, by calling the listed number to purchase a ‘vehicle service contract’ for additional coverage on a car I just bought.

- Houston, TX, USA

3 letters were sent without a return address regarding auto warranty expiration. I am not sure if they were all from the same company, but the other two letters sent included the following phone numbers: 888-599-3767 and 888-582-6870.

Letter appears like it is from the department of motor vehicles and states that immediate response is required multiple times. Upon contacting I realized that they were trying to sell me an extended warranty. Initially they asked for a $400+ “investment” followed by 12 payments of $350+ dollars. When I stated I wasn’t interested they continued to push and pressure. I have received 2 of these “final notices” in 2 weeks.

This "company" continues to send threatening letters in official looking envelopes using the Department of Motor Vehicles font insisting that "Immediate Response to this Notice is Required." They are attempting to sell an extended car warranty and go as far as including make and model of vehicle. Although they may be attempting to sell an actual product their method is deceitful as they make it appear like a government requirement. All they provide is a telephone number and although I annoyingly receive at least one solicitation every 3-4 weeks I do not want to call and request my address be removed as I am afraid they will get my telephone number. I am concerned that many other unknowing recipients are falling victim to their tactics, as other online forums suggest they take $3000-4000 for an extended warranty. They should be shut down.

Fake company trying to get me to believe that I need to call them to extend the warranty on my new car

I got a notice to call and verify my information for my warranty on a car I recently purchased through North Park Subaru. I was led to believe this person was a representative of Subaru. He explained the warranty and said I had to pay $395 and $199.83 for the warraty I had discussed with Subaru when I bought my car. He took my credit card information. Upon completing the call I looked at my vehicle paperwork and saw I had already paid for my warranty. I called back to the phone number and they hung up on me. I returned the call and another representative answered. I asked for Bryan but this representative decided to handle the call. I told him they did not represent Subaru and that I already paid for a warranty through Subaru and did not want their warranty, He told me to cancel the Subaru warranty as they could deny my claims. When I said I did not want their warranty he said it would be a long time before I would get my money and that I would have to write a letter to cancel. He would not give me the name of the company to address the letter to. He said address it to Finance Department only and mail to 21415 West IH 10 Frontage Road San Antonio, Texas 78256
