- Chelmsford, MA, USA • Mar 26, 2025

post card from Motor Vehicle Services wanted me to call for continued protection on my purchased vehicle. i assume they got my information by a review I left on google for the dealership, and they must have connected my name and figured out my address. they had my correct address, name, and model / make/ year of my new vehicle.

- Lewis Center, OH, USA • Mar 24, 2025

Received post card in the mail stating that I have failed to call to update my vehicle service protection information. It further states failure to do so will result in my card being recategorized as high risk with potential rex-existing condition if I don't reply by 4/4/25 and 100% out of pocket repair expenses to me. The mailing shows my car make and model and the dealership of recent purchase.

The scam that is trying to get coverage for expired or soon to Spire factory warranty. The listed that we were approved for 0% interest. Gives a fake coverage ID, toll free telephone number, uses the real year make and model of our vehicle and our name. Coverage explanation says requesting the following. One - extension through 2023. Two - up to or an additional 100,000 miles. 3 - Platinum / Powertrain option. Third option is for mechanical and electrical parts as well as transmission, engine, etc. There is a deadline to respond

- Highlands, TX, USA • Feb 01, 2025

Notice in the mail stating immediate response to this notice is required they do have the name of the car and dealership noted. Knew it was a scam because the year of the vehicle purchased is a 2025 and only purchased less than 2 months ago. They have no website, only a phone number. Address provided is

2410 Highway 94 South Outer Road

St. Charles, MO 63303

They might have tried to call but I do not answer numbers unknown to me and they have not left messages.

Vague yet urgent letter claiming my new cars factory warranty may expire and to contact them immediately. They state a response is required.

- Kilgore, TX, USA • Nov 13, 2024

Recently purchased a car. Was sent 3 post cards and an envelope from an entity claiming to be Lincoln, warning me that "Immediate Response To This Notice Is Required". One even stated that they would report my car as an electrical damage risk of I did not contact them by 11/10/2024. The sender was titled "Motor Vehicle Services" with repair facility notated "All Lincoln Dealers". Its made to look like this is a notice from Ford/Lincoln, when it is really a fraudulent attempt to mislead unsuspecting customers into signing up for their aftermarket extended warranty program. Its obviously a scam, where the company,Motor Vehicle Services, has souced that I recently purchased the car from open records and is trying to trick me into a purchase. I called them today and asked them to be taken off of their mailing list. When I told the woman I got 4 notices in the main she replied that I only received 1. Then peoceede to tell me that she is from my insurance company, which is also a lie. I said I just wanted to be taken off of their mailing list. At this ponnt she got loud and said "you dont want to continue your warranty coverage?" I got loud back and said I all wanted was to be off of their mailing list. She said I already was, so I hung up. Just wanted to warn people about this.

Received a mailer of the sort where you have to bend and fold and then tear off the 3 edges. Sender name was Motor Vehicle Services with no address on the outside. Opening the mailer revealed the actual name of the dealer I bought my new vehicle from a month ago as well as the Make and Model of my new vehicle. Two headings in bold letters stated "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE IS REQUIRED". The letter stated that my "vehicle services contracted" needed to be updated or I might have to pay for repairs after my warranty expires. The phone number 866-426-0075 was listed a few times. At first this seemed like a bad situation but then I had to think that of course you have to pay for repairs once your warranty expires. So in a sense this was not an untruth. It had me there for a second. The boldfaced headings that I had to respond immediately was misleading though. In the fine print (very small) it was stated that they were not affiliated with my auto dealer, that the mailer was an ad about obtaining coverage, and that my info was collected from my "public record consumer auto data file", whatever that is. The firm's address was also provided (in the fine print). I could see how some people might totally fall for this.

Received mail from motor vehicle services in official appearing envelope. It warn's urgently that the vehicle service contract for your vehicle has not been updated. Please call 866-426-0075. You are receiving this notice because your factory warranty will expire or may have already expired based on the mileage and age of your vehicle. No other notices will be sent for this offer. This will be our only attempt to contact you about your expiring factory warranty. Your file on this vehicle will be deleted and you may no longer be eligible for this offer regarding service coverage after 7/31/2024.

The letter appears very official and includes the name of the location I recently purchased a vehicle from.

Buried in the fine print for this gives the notice that this is not an official state entity but rather an advertisement to obtain coverage.

- Dacula, GA, USA • Jul 10, 2024

they tried to make us sign up for a “extended factory warranty” for my lexus. they said that an immediate response to this was required, but we checked our cars’ paperwork for 8 years (we purchased an extended warranty through our dealer)

- Smyrna, TN, USA • Jul 08, 2024

They keep sending auto warranty mail with nothing but coercive language to make you call them and fall for it.

- Bismarck, ND, USA • Jul 03, 2024

sent a letter saying “Immediate response required.” stated that my factory warranty on my car was about to expire and i needed to call to replace my coverage by July 5th.

- Mount Rainier, MD, USA • Jun 25, 2024

I did not call the number listed on the post. I checked online to see if it was legitimate and saw it was listed as phishing scam. So I just wanted to report it is still happening.

- Leeds, ND, USA • Jun 24, 2024

They use scare tactics saying you will be financially responsible for any and all repairs after factory warranty expires you only have a limited time to purchase the extended warranty from 0 percent to 11.99 percent doesn't specify percentage of what

- Charlotte, NC, USA • Jun 12, 2024

This organization is pretending to be the Department of Motor Vehicles and sending “required action” notices. I recently registered my car in a new state, so they have skimmed my contact and vehicle information somehow.

- Odessa, TX, USA

False Extended warranty

- Denver, CO, USA

Used a "coverage ID," usedy vehicle info, and has my previous coverage info

- Raleigh, NC, USA

Letter that looks very official that states " Immediate response is required" and then tried to sell me on an extended warranty for my car

- Woodward, IA, USA

Received a letter only addressed to me instead of my husband and I as we are both listed on the vehicle. The letter was for a factory warranty. The letter didn’t say that it costs more to extend. There was information on the letter in fine print that didn’t make sense. When I called they asked for the coverage ID on the letter and after I provided that they confirmed the vehicle was have. They then wanted the vin number but I said I didn’t have it on me. The caller said he would wait until I got it. If they have the name of my vehicle and put on the letter the dealership I bought the vehicle from, they should also have vin number. When I asked if it costed anything to extend it they said yes that’s why they need the vin so as I was in the middle of talking, they hung up on me.
