A man claiming to be called Shane Richardson from Your Back Tax Filings LLC called and left a voicemail. He said that I have overdue back taxes and told me to pay them off or I would "receive a wage garnishment." He told me to call him back at 201-267-1193.

Received a call from a number with an 803 area code, but it only rang once then hung up before I could even react. A few seconds later, I received a voicemail from a number with a 516 area code. The voicemail was from Shane Richardson claiming to be from Back Tax Filings LLC, and that I had to call TODAY so they could help me avoid wage garnishment as my back taxes must be paid by the end of the month. He left the call back number 201-267-1193 (the third area code used). Definitely a scam.

A person claiming their name is Shane Richardson left a voicemail about this scam saying “ 18637899154 (this is the number he used)

"I hope your day is going well. My name is Shane Richardson from Your Back Tax Filings LLC, and my phone number is 201-267-1193, and I am calling you about your overdue back tax filing. This is a notification call about your back tax debt that must be settled before the end of the month. We have received a notice that your debt must be settled before the end of the month, and if you call today, we can possibly help you avoid any wage garnishment. My phone number is 201-267-1193. I do have some good news for you about some recent programs that have taken effect that could possibly help you reduce or completely eliminate your overdue back tax debt before you receive a wage garnishment. I have received about 5-7 calls this year regarding this same company and persons using the same names. The first several calls were from the same female voice using the last name "Richardson" and the last two calls were identical in wording as if they were reading the script, and using the exact same name as "Shane Richardson" but two very different male voices. One with an Indian accent, the other was obvious white male, saying "we received a notice of your over due back taxes, you have a debt to be settled before the end of the month to avoid wages being garnished....please call 201-267-1193 - this is Shane Richardson. The last call sounded more authoritative and convincing. I hope somehow this scammer or scammers will be caught soon!
