I went on line to Zoeykennel.com to look at available Pug puppies that they were advertising on craigslist.com. I contacted them regarding one of their available pug puppies. Dominique and Zoey Murray emailed me back stating that in order to hold the puppy for me, I would have to send them via either Cash App or Zelle $400.00 deposit. Dominique, who I spoke on the phone with in the beginning explained the process and he seemed like a real breeder which he stated that he and his wife Zoey had been breeding for 7 years. He stated to me that he would send me a contract for me to sign and send back stating the cost of the puppy, when puppy would be available for pick up, health certification, etc. So I felt he was genuine. On Monday, Sept. 7th I sent the deposit of $400.00 via Zelle to the information that he provided to me, which was [email protected]; Acc name: Dominique Murray; Memo: For Stella (name of the puppy). I signed the contract that same day and emailed it back to him (he had already signed the contract before emailing it to me for my signature). Then on Tuesday, Sept. 8th he texts me that I have to send them the balance for the puppy before I can pick her up, which was not how it was stated int he contract. The contract states that the balance of $200.00 will be due upon receipt of the puppy on the agreed upon pick up date of Sept. 19, 2020 (which is the date that he put in as the puppy would be of age to go on that date). I have been texting, emailing and calling both contact numbers that he provided to me that have the area code to TN. Also, he gave me their address, which he stated was his home address for me to come and pick up the puppy at. When I replied back to Dominique letting him know that I would be paying the balance due upon pick up of the puppy, he never replied back until yesterday, 9/9/2020 stating that we need to discuss the balance due and that he has other inquires and need to put her down. Which didn't make sense, so I looked his website up on "The Puppy Scam Website" this morning and found out that ZoeyKennel.com is a big puppy scam and that I have been taken advantage of. The Puppy Scam website indicated to file a report with the FBI, ScamPulse.com and file a police report which I am doing now.
