Type of a scam Employment
The scammers are posting fake jobs on Indeed, Zip Recruiter, etc. People who have applied are interviewed by Chat (no voice calls). The supposed interviewer is a woman’s name. The scammer asks for W4 and banking information for direct deposit. The victims are told they need certain supplies. The victim is sent a check for $6,900 by FedEx. The return address on the FedEx is from Valhalla, NY. The check is from a Bank of Texas for a company named Highland Builders. We have received hundreds of phone calls from people who investigated and found our contact information. We have posted about this fraud on our Facebook page an have a number of comments from people who have visited this to see if the job is a scam.
