Initially I was supposed to have a zoom meeting, but the whole process was a conversation via messages on zoom. The job sounded too good to be true and it didn’t feel like an interview. They said I would have a second interview two days later. The very next day the person said I had the job, they would send me a check and would require I make a purchase for the computer and other necessities with the check. I asked why they couldn’t just do that themselves. He said it’s because they wanted to trust me. There was no request for a life scan or drug test. Things I believe should be acquired. The link they gave me was for another legitimate brand, but the link didn’t work. I asked what kind of computer was needed knowing the company had different kinds, and he just said read above notes. I received the check and checked the banking company. The bank said they only do deposits and loans. I called the bank and I was not allowed to have any information on the check. Later the person who “hired me” requested a picture of the front of the check. I have not deposited, and I did not send him a picture. Everything feels very wrong. Don’t trust them. Especially if you find their name on company website. Ask every question possible. Trust your gut feeling.
