While checking my mail I noticed two people talking with my neighbors about a vehicle in their driveway, and one of them walked over and asked me about a corvette I had in my driveway. He asked if it was for sale and asked if he could look at it. I showed him and gave him a price and he started talking about the hood and the paint job and saying he could do this and that for it. I told him it was fine, but I said what you could look at is my other car. I was hit by a bycle and had a couple of dents from it. He said oh ya I could take them out no problem, I have my tools with me. It would take me no time, and said he would charge $1200, I told him all I had was $900 and he said fine, I'll see what I can do, and him and another person, a lady began working on the car hammering it and putting this clay stuff on it saying it will get out the dents. I was skeptical so I looked up what they were saying real quick and found this scam on the BBB. Once I read the info on the ScamPulse.com I knew I was being scammed so I stopped the "repairs" and told them sorry, I don't have as much as I thought to pay you, so I'm going to have to have you stop, and I had to tell them to stop a few times before they got the hint. The lady is the one who actually started to argue with me and asking for more money, I offered $290 to get them to leave with out any incident or further drama. Once they left I wiped off the putty clay and saw the true damage now done to my car. The dents worse, and now the paint is cracked bad and it wasn't cracked before or chipped. The couple was driving a dark blue Ford expedition with Oregon license plates, both in their mid 40s both Hispanics and both with several tattoos, they spoke a foreign language that I couldn't recognize, it wasn't Spanish. He claimed he worked or owns a body shop in Yuba City, and does work for other shops since he was little.
