I was contacted through SimplyHired saying that they'd found my resume on Indeed and wanted to hire me for an office assistant position for the new office positions being opened in my city. They sent checks that initially cleared my bank and wanted me to use the money to "pay vendors" through money orders and then Bitcoin. When problems arose with those methods they wanted me to buy Google Play gift cards. In the end, because they wanted me to use the money cleared by the checks immediately I was on the hook when the first one bounced and will be for when the second one eventually bounces as well.
