Received a check from York College York, Pennsylvania and the check was altered and fictitious. The check was drawn on M and T Bank. Cashed at financial institution and it was suppose to be used to pay bills, fix truck and pay rent. It was for $8K. This all happened the end of May, 2021. Notified by financial institution mid-June, 2021 that it did not go through and was fake. They also said that money was owed back to the financial institution.
