The woman "Mary" (712) 267-9581 claimed to be with the County and inspecting AC units to verify code compliance. Told me they were issuing rebates to update AC to current standards. Then tried to rush me into scheduling to have work completed. When I attempted to clarify if this appointment was for an estimate she said she was the assessor. When I asked how much it would cost she said normally $8,000 out of pocket, but I would only have to pay $90/month. I asked how much was the total - she said I would not have to pay until 2022. Again, I asked how much - then she said $8,000-$9,000. I asked what was going to happen during the visit - she said they would be installing new ductwork. I told her I wanted to see the contract information. She told me to check my email and would not leave me any of the papers she was filling out for me to sign. I did NOT sign anything. I am reporting this company because they LIED - this is NOT a person from the County. This was an attempt to put a lien on my house. BEWARE!!!!!!!
