The email listed the following:
"Dear ***,
This is a billing reminder that your invoice no. 93881 which was generated on 11/30/2015 is due.
Your payment method is: Check
Invoice: 9381
Balance Due: $699.99 USD
Please see the attached invoice.
Yellow Pages Services
Please do not reply to this email address. This is an automated email. Please send all inquiries to [email protected]"
Upon further review, "Appleton" - the city location of our business was not capitalized, they also failed to type in the same invoice number throughout the email. - The email itself came from a personal email address of "Lorine Graves" <[email protected]> - a bit fishy.
I personally visited both the website listed in the email as well as YP.com and they are not connected in anyway. I also contacted the marketing department at YP and they have nothing listed under our business for an account with them. All of this leads me to believe that this is a scam targeting the small business I work for.
