I forgot my password to my yahoo account and the recovery process wasn’t working so I googled Yahoo’s tech support number and found 1-88-470-9705. A man answered “thank you for calling Yahoo tech support” I then explained my problem and he asked for email, name, and dob. He then went on to tell me that I was hacked and that my email was being used in China and Australia. He then went on to say that those people were using my account to pass child porn, but yahoo has independent people that could fix my account. I asked if we could just close my account and he said no you need to do this to make sure the problem is taken care of. At this point alarms are going off...if my account was hacked should yahoo take care of this. The man asked me if I wanted to the fee and I said yes. He said it would be $235.00 to take care of this. I To,d him I would call back and started to research and found out that Yahoo has no tech support number or customer support number and that this has happened to others just different versions of the story.
