Hello, my name is *** ***. I am reporting a scam that was over the phone with a third-party company that was claiming to be "yahoo customer service" and became a victim of this scam while trying to help my mother with her login into her Yahoo email. The number was pulled up from Google Search and I called only to later find out Yahoo doesn't condone to over the phone support due to this and without knowing I agreed with the person on the phone call to do a Peer-to-Peer session. During that time he encrypted my admin rights using his control over my computer had set a password on my Windows 10 for my pc to prevent me from using my computer unless the money was paid to them through credit/debt. Thankfully I was able to prevent this at the last second and no transaction was done and ended the call to the person with the name "Manny Rose" and on calling them back with the number (844) 822-5696 the man admitted to this while hysterically laughing. I felt I was hacked and scammed and was concerned enough to report this in hopes to prevent this from happening to a victim such as my 62 year old mother who isn't educated with these type of things and overall upset at the whole experience as a whole.
