Type of a scam Employment
By this time the person asked for me to download the signal app from the app store or through telegram webpage https://signal.org/. They ask that I set up an account with my phone number and name. Then add the hiring manager by her signal account. I was also given an ID. I was to chat with her immediately since she was available right then. After signing up, signal gave me a code and I message the HM.
When HM started she wanted more information to best interview me which was just name age and location. Then asked if I had criminal charges, and was over 18.
The weird part was that she had started to describe another company and its strategies as well as sending me a link. I sadly just assumed it was under the same umbrella since they worked with so many businesses, so I didn't question it. Then she sent the businesses webpage and explained that I could review the website while she continues. She continues with normal explanation of the wage hours and duties.
After the normal things are said things hit the roof. So any read flags.
The ask if I would prefer a wire transfer. Ask what bank do operate with to see if it tallies with company's official salary payment account.
After she asks me to hold on online while she send my answers to her supervisors for review and consideration.
After 30 min Im hired.
They said I had a good score 7.5 out of 10.
Training was every weekend and I had to to email a progress report and timesheet every Friday.
There was working equipment that is required for the job that would be handled by the company, so I would be sent a check or direct deposit and purchase items from the local vendor. Everything would be known to me the day that I receive the check/direct deposit since I would be receiving it asap.
Lastly I was asked for my address (PO Box Not Valid), cell, and email so they could be enlist into the Company's register for proper documentation.
I was set up for training with my supervisor for a couple hours to go over software.
I didn't feel right after this interview, since it was conducted all through the app and I never heard or had a company hire someone without meeting them face to face, I did more research. I wanted more info before I dived head first, so I tried to find the Company's phone number to ask HR if this was all real, but all I found was an email. The site also didn't look up to the standards a billion dollar company, who's been featured in magazines and the news, should have and the Linkedin account also said they only had 19 employees. There was to many red flags so I looked up the company on BBB. I couldn't find it either of the Company's they had mentioned so lastly I went on the ScamPulse.com's scam tracker where I found a patter of people getting asked to download SIGNAL app for employment interviews. They also had similar questions and or things said to them like I had.
Needless to say don't ignore the red flags and at the end of the day go on ScamPulse.com's website to help yourself !
