Type of a scam Tech Support
Tells me my computer has been reporting to them that it has problems.
Asked me to turn on computer and run "netstat" command in terminal.
This produces a number of local and foreign computer port addresses to which computer has / was connected.
Claims this means hackers are already accessing my computer.
Wants me to give him permission to remotely administer / access my computer to install a small piece of software that will allow their engineers to fix the issues.
I said how do I know they are not the hackers ? He says if he was, then he wouldn't have called. I said he called because he wants me to give him access to my computer, so I agree, he can't be a very good hacker.
The software he would download involves some sort of pay service "much like an antivirus" he says.
Obviously I said forget it, which is when he directs me to the website listed above which I haven't opened.
I sit behind a firewall and VPN. There's no way without my help he could get into my computer.
