Top-Rated Sitters Silenced: Rover Terminated Us Without Cause After Years of Loyal Service
Without any prior warning or a valid reason, Rover abruptly deactivated our account. We received only a vague, generic email stating the decision was final. They offered no explanation, due process, or opportunity to defend us or our record. Our inquiries were met with copy-paste responses, refusing to engage transparently.
This action resulted in the immediate loss of our income, access to our client base, and years of professional reputation and trust-building. More concerning, Rover appears to have reassigned our clients to other sitters, benefiting from the community we built while discarding us entirely.
As immigrants working hard to build an honest living, we feel exploited and betrayed. This goes beyond a business decision—it borders on labor exploitation. We believe Rover used our labor and presence to grow their platform, only to cut us off once we became established, without due process or accountability.
We are reporting this not just for ourselves, but to protect others from going through the same unjust treatment. Their lack of transparency and disregard for the sitters who make their service possible is unethical and deeply damaging.
We have already filed reports with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection Ontario. We are pursuing all legal and public channels available to hold Rover accountable.
