The company I work for, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), is in the process of trademarking some certifications and logo's with the United States Federal Government (United States Patent and Trademark Office). During the process we received a notice from WTP services for processing of the trademarks. Seeing how this was our first time pursuing trademarks, NKBA paid this bill believing it was a normal charge for trademark services. After a few months went by, we started to receive other letters from various other companies with similar charges. It was then we realized that there are companies out there that charge you for trademark services by sending invoices and then hosting your trademark on their private servers/website. Doing more research, we found that WTP Services is listed on the United States Patent and Trademark Office's official website (https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/basics/caution-misleading-notices) as a company that issues "misleading notices."
