The scammer/ fraud claims to be a mobile mechanic. They operate under the name "Work Done Auto - Mobile Mechanic”. Their fake google maps page uses a number of plausible looking images that relate to car mechanical work, but are fake images that are totally unrelated to the actual business. After contacting them initially over the phone, the “mechanics” said they would have to run diagnostics on the issue I described, which conveniently they asked a reasonable price of $80 for. Next, they sent me an invoice via email that needed to be paid before an actual appointment could be set up. After having paid the requested amount, I was again called and contacted via text to be informed of my appointment. The appointment was at 1:30, the guy arrived 10 min late with a standard $20 warehouse tool kit and a regular car reader. The guy said the reader could not detect anything wrong with the car and it would therefore be a "mechanical issue", so he crawled underneath the car where he detected a coolant leak, which is what I had already found out about. After detecting the source of the leak, their scamming agent tried to convince me that my car had some "special German" nut screws… NUT SCREWS that could not be turned with his set of wrenches and hex keys. In the end he told me that the best advice he can give me is to TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, that was the best advice that he as supposed “mechanic” gave me. Which leads me to another fishy point about this person, he claimed to have studied the exact same thing that I was studying which was nowhere near to car mechanic and failed to give an explanation to why he switched to the latter. After his “inspection” basically failed entirely, he reassured me that he would find the proper information about my specific vehicle based on my VIN and Car type and come back to me with a full report on the issue, which is of course completely made up.
