I, as a former Arlington ISD student received an email from an official school district email address that belongs to William Karmany, a Fine Arts Employee listed as part of the staff of the Junior High I attended here in Texas. This email was regarding a Steinway Baby Grand Piano that needed a loving home. Since it was from an official Arlington ISD email, I decided to contact my former Junior High to see if anyone knew anything about the piano situation before continuing. When I called and asked for Mr. Karmany's details and expressed that I was afraid it was a scam, a receptionist at the junior high said she couldn't explicitly confirm whether or not Karmany was employed at the school, but did say "I can tell you that you don't have to worry about that"- implying that Karmany was in fact employed. As a result, I contacted the number in the email (6467414099) and was immediately informed that the Steinway was available and was being given away to a loving home. I assumed an AISD administrator had passed and wanted an AISD student to have it. I asked for more details but was not able to get them to tell me who they were and how they were affiliated with the school district. They connected me to a moving service called "S&H Moving" with the number 213-669-6212. I could not find any moving company under that name and number on the internet. I had already contacted that number before realizing the moving company did not exist. The supposed moving company proceeded to ask for my name and address which I did not give to them. They then proceeded to give me 3 options to have the piano delivered with 3 different prices from 450-1750 dollars using zelle or cashapp.
