I was first contacted on Wednesday,Oct 7, by a Jean Baptiste Noel-Hudson, telling me that I qualified for the Videographer-Editor position at Withings health inc. Paying me $45/h. After some chat interview through an application he requested to install (Wire) and one call from a Brian Tsung, then shortly after they sent me the job offer letter, and seemed to be in a hurry to hire me. I signed it and sent it back. with all my info. My "pre-training" started this Tuesday 8th. Jean Baptiste told me that my team leader was going to be Melanie Alsberghe-Patel, so he asked me to connect with her also through Wire. So I did. She was nice, and gave me some introductory speech, via chat, and talked to me about my duties. Then she asked me if I was ok with buying an iPhone and an iPad, that I was going to need for my job and that they were going to reimburse completely to me. Those devices were going to be programmed by some technicians at my home when I'd buy them. I ordered them, in the mean time I took some assessment/test she assigned me as pretraining. Then she told me "wait, there's an update, I just had a meeting with IT people and they told me that because of the lockdown, and pandemic and to protect your health you better send the devices to them". After I told them I wasn't comfortable investing that kind of money and send the equipment to them, they told me they would have me speak with HR on monday. At this point on contacted an actual employee with the real company and discovered the scam at which point i blocked all assosciated numbers.
