SELLERS OF TIMESHARES BEWARE!! This is a fraudulent website holding themselves out to be a legitimate law firm in Boise who contact victims with timeshares for sale, purporting to have a buyer. They then direct the victim to a very professional-looking website, which today happens to be www.wintterslaw.com. They have also used www.winters-lawgroup.com. The criminals are also using the name of an actual Boise attorney's and bar number, then directing the victims to look that person up on the Idaho State Bar website in an attempt to legitimize the transaction. The Idaho State Bar is aware of the situation and helpful to anyone who contacts them with suspicions. The problem we found was that by the time we got the website shut down (a herculean effort) a new one popped up with a new host. The address listed is a vacant suite in the Wells Fargo building and the phone numbers are purchased from a bank with VOIP. THERE IS NO WINTERS LAW GROUP IN IDAHO!

I found out this scam is common, and is perpetuated and “legitimized” by using directing a likely victim to a regulatory website such as the state bar association or real estate licensing association to find the profile that “proves” the scammer is a bona-fide member of whatever… We have contacted the FBI, the AG's office, the FTC, the SEC, the Boise Police.
