My wife got a pop-up message that said that her computer has shown some unusual activity via Window Microsoft, and that her computer has become infected, and to call this phone number immediately; 1-888-995-8812, I was taking a nap at the time so I didn't know who she was talking to, (other words I would have told her it was a scam) anyhow she didn't know at the time so she was on the phone for over a hour with a gentlemen with an India accent.(supposedly from Microsoft)When I got up and realized she had already let him into her computer I was worried, he showed her something in her files that was some kind of malware or something that he would delete but it would come back a few seconds later. He transferred her to this #- 1-800-261-7658 that was supposedly a supervisor who showed her 3 options for fixing the supposed problem, they were very high priced ranging from $149.00- $699.00.(for lifetime protection), Ha-ha! I knew then and remembered see something about this scam on T.V. And I told her when I was leaving not to give any C.C. # or do anything. I spoke with her later on and she said after she told them she had no C.C. that there was nothing that he could do to help and that her computer would probably crash. After she got off the phone she found those items in her files and was able to delete them one by one, then she restarted her computer and it was fine., Hmmmmmm??
