I received an email saying thank you for your purchase for the Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection. And it gave me a date that it will be paid by and a transaction number. And it said I shouldn't reply to this email but to call there billing team and they will be happy to refund me or answer any questions. I called and asked questions and they couldn’t answer me and they kept saying that they are certified with the Better Business Bureau. And it will be recorded. Than I had to download their app to get the refund and go to either my on line banking credit union or my bank account. I told them I didn’t have online banking so they talked me through how to get one set up and I noticed my cursor moving on the computer so I shut off computer and then they started yelling at me and to turn it back on then three other support team members each yelling at to turn my computer on so they could refund me. Also there phone kept disconnecting and they would call back. And say it was technical difficulties. And they also didn’t like how slow I was working with them on the computer because I couldn’t see the colors there where asking for. I am color blind so they were getting upset that I didn’t find them fast and had to ask them what the boxes said.

No reply email received from Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection, stating an auto renewal invoice was successfully paid for $299. Customer service number was provided at  1-855-238-3385 and to call if this was not my order.

Call was made and spoke with a woman from customer service, who could not tell me anything about the charge or credit card it was supposed to have been billed to and that she was not equipped to cancel the charge. She kept trying to get me to go to another website in order to cancel. However, it became too suspicious and I hung up without completing the instructions.

I do not know whether there was an actual charge of $299 successfully paid as they claimed or if it was a ploy to get me go follow the cancellation instructions on a phony charge so my computer could be compromised. I have not checked with all my credit cards yet, but i did check with the main one that would have been used for such purchases as they claimed I made. No charge of $299 had been registered in recent activity against that Master card. I will check with other visa accounts.
